Canine Intelligence Test
This is a test designed to measure the intelligence of your dog. These tests can be conducted one at a time or all together. Most of these tests use a food reward, so for the best results the tests should be conducted when the dog is hungry. For an accurate measure of canine intelligence the tests should be performed on a dog that is at least 1 year old and in a home they have lived in for a minimum of three months. Tests should be conducted by the owners of the dog. For accuracy in scoring do not perform the tests more than twice. Please follow directions as written and do not show your dog how to solve the problems. If you own more than one dog, please test the dogs individually and be sure the other dog is removed from the testing environment. The dog’s overall intelligence is determined by a series of nine individual tests.
Test 1: Beginning Problem Solving
Test 2: Intermediate Problem Solving
Test 3: Advanced Problem Solving
Test 4: Problem Solving and Manipulation
Test 6: Language Comprehension
Test 9: Observational Learning
